  5. Release Notes
  6. -------------
  7. This is version 2.1 of the CompCore SoftPEG software MPEG player.  This
  8. release supports both Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
  9.  
  10.  
  11. Windows 3.1 Installation Instructions
  12. -------------------------------------
  13. 1.  Install Video for Windows 1.1E or later.
  14.  
  15. 2.  Install the Diamond Multimedia display driver for Windows 3.1 for
  16.     the Diamond Multimedia adapter you own.
  17.  
  18. 3.  Start Windows 3.1.
  19.  
  20. 4.  Insert the CompCore SoftPEG diskette into your 3.5" floppy diskette
  21.     drive.
  22.  
  23. 5.  From Program Manager, select File, then select Run.
  24.  
  25. 6.  For the command line, type the following:
  26.  
  27.         A:\SETUP.EXE <enter>
  28.  
  29.     Where A is the drive letter of the 3.5" floppy diskette drive.
  30.  
  31. 7.  Click Continue.
  32.  
  33. 8.  You will be prompted for an install path.  The default path is:
  34.  
  35.         C:\SOFTPEG
  36.  
  37.     Change if desired, then click Continue.
  38.  
  39. 9.  SETUP will copy over the necessary files and make changes to WIN.INI and
  40.     SYSTEM.INI.  Click OK when the Setup Succeeded! dialog box appears.

  43. Windows 95 Installation Instructions
  44. ------------------------------------
  45. 1.  Install the Diamond Multimedia display driver for Windows 95 for
  46.     the Diamond Multimedia adapter you own.
  47.  
  48. 2.  Start Windows 95.
  49.  
  50. 3.  Insert the CompCore SoftPEG diskette into your 3.5" floppy diskette
  51.     drive.
  52.  
  53. 4.  Select Start, then select Run.
  54.  
  55. 5.  For the command line, type the following:
  56.  
  57.         A:\SETUP.EXE <enter>
  58.

  73. Using SoftPEG
  74. -------------
  75. To view an MPEG file:
  76.  
  77. 1.  Double click on the MPEG File Player icon in the CompCore group or folder.
  78.  
  79. 2.  Select the file you wish to play.
  80.  
  81. 3.  Press the Play button.

  84. To view a Video CD or CD-i disk:
  85.  
  86. 1.  Insert the Video CD or CD-i disk into the CD-ROM drive.

  88. 1.  Double click on the CD-Vision icon in the CompCore group or folder.
  89.  
  90. 2.  Press Load on the Remote Control.
